THE BUILDING PROCESS

Plans: If your plans are complete, we are ready to provide you with a detailed budget and a construction schedule.  If you’re just getting started we will work with you and your architect to design the home of your dreams.  Along the way we will provide value engineering, suggest building assemblages that will reduce cost and develop a preliminary budget.

 

Engineering: Building in the coastal zone requires that the structure of your home, foundation, floor and roof systems, be designed by a licensed engineer.  Similar to the architectural plans, we can assist with preliminary budgets and often suggest cost reducing methods.

 

Specifications: Some plans are extremely detailed and list every item to be included in the house.  Other plans just show basic construction layouts.  We are experienced at working with either type or anything in-between.  We will work with you to specify selections like exterior finishes, interior and exterior trim, interior and exterior flooring, tile, cabinets, counter tops and fixtures just to name a few.

 

Budget: Once your plans and specifications are complete we will provide you with an itemized budget. Realistic allowances will be used  in place of selection decisions yet to be made. Our goal is for you to have a clear and accurate knowledge of what this project will cost from start to finish with no unwanted surprises.

 

Schedule: Based on the plans and specifications we will develop a construction schedule  so you will know that your home is staying on track.  The schedule will also let you know when you need to make final decisions.

 

Contract: Only after the plans, specifications, budget and schedule meet your approval do we proceed with a contract.  The WaterCrest Homes Agreement is short, to the point and written to protect your investment.  This is not a one sided contract favoring the builder.

 

Construction: Once construction begins, we will work fast and efficiently until the house is complete.  You will receive weekly progress reports, weekly photographs and monthly financial reports to keep you informed. We will insure your expectations are met before final payment is made.
